Tri-Boro First Aid Squad was founded in 1939 when a small group of men splintered off from the Pompton Lakes First Aid Squad as they felt out towns needed their own squad. We began with a donated ambulance and were housed at the Royal Pontiac Dealership at Boonton Ave. and Rt. 23, where the Quick Check now stands. In 1958, 15 women formed the first female unit, but were only allowed to ride during the day. Around 1975 the two divisions combined into the squad we have today. In those first years, Tri-Boro answered fewer than 200 calls a year with less than 60 members. This year, we will have answered close to, if not, 2000 calls, with about 40 members and three ambulances.
Our members come from all walks of life and backgrounds. The common factor we all share is our dedication and willingness to serve our communities and be there to help others in their time of need. All members are certified as either EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) or EMRs (Emergency Medical Responders) and continue to train and hone our crafts to medical emergencies.
Our service is FREE of charge. We respond to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, traumas and medical transports. At fires, the squad ensures the medical well-being of our firefighters. We also provide emergency medical coverage for parades, sporting events, graduations and other special town events.
But we can't do this without your help. Your contribution will help keep us running for another year. your donation goes toward paying our bills, purchasing supplies, maintaining our ambulances and helping us continue our training in emergency care.
Your donation will enable us to better serve the communities of Butler, Bloomingdale, and Kinnelon. Thank you for your continued support.
